   Rainbow mountain by ATV was the best highlight of our week long trip to Lima and Cusco. The views are stunning and worth doing! Perhaps even better than Machu Picchu. We went in October and had great weather. The last bit of hiking is very tiring but renting the horse helps. We went as a double on one motorcycle. The guides were fun and tell you what you need to bring by the time you are picked up. Was probably 15 of us in our group. Arturo our contact was easy to communicate with leading up to the trip. Keep in mind the bathrooms available at the ATV base camp are only 2 rural stalls without running water or toilet paper, and everyone needed to use them, so if you can use the toilets at the breakfast restaurant!

   Wooooow it’s all I can say! Such a beautiful experience…. It’s truly beautiful… very challenged but the atvs make it very fun and special…. Highly recommend…Rogelio was very attentive and knowledgeable in the area….

   The tour was extremely enjoyable. It was a really easy way to get up to Rainbow mountain. The ATV road was fun, it was nice scenery all the way up, warm clothes recommended. The tour guides were very helpful and were very aware of their group on the tour

   Everything was great! Our tour guide & having the ATV’s made the hike so much easier. The views during the ATV were so beautiful. We got there in good timing and there wasn’t too many people there.

   This was such a fun way to explore one of Peru’s greatest sites. I would highly recommend going on this excursion for the following reasons:

   1. Guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and fun. Arturo is the best!

   2. It’s a smaller group & we all felt like family by the time the excursion ended.

   3. The entrance fees go to the locals instead of the government

   4. There were local Incas at trail head & top of the mountain. Walking at such a high altitude is difficult for some people so you can opt to pay for a ride on a horse or a motorbike. The motorcycle brings you all the way to the top of the mountain but the horse drops you off 90% of the way; the last portion is too steep for the horse. There were llama’s at the top dressed in bright Inca necklaces which made for a great photo opportunity.

   5. Rainbow Mountain is stunning! We thought the photos we saw were filtered. Nope, it’s just that vibrant.

   Myself and three friends has such a great time on this tour. Arturo was a great guide, the food was good, ATVs were fun and the scenery was amazing! It’s a long day but definitely worth it.

   You can’t go wrong with Rojelio and Arturo!!!!

   I did this with my friend. We got picked up from our hotel by Rojelio at 4:00 a.m. and in our group were a total of 9 tourists.

   First stop after 1:30 drive was for a decent buffet breakfast. We had lunch at the same restaurant and there were plenty of buffet options including soup, for every taste and food restrictions you might have! The food was very fresh as it seems like this restaurant is a hub for all excursions happening in the area.
   Second stop after another hour or so of driving was to switch to ATVs. We got riding instructions on English and Spanish; pretty simple, straightforward and safe as they provide hamlets with visor. Having sunglasses can be helpful. Get ready for A LOT OF DUST as you ride! Lol Everyone is wearing 2 face masks due to local government COVID restrictions so that was helpful. Riding back to the van, after hiking the mountain was more interesting as we got to ride at 75 km/hour for a short time.

   The hike starts at 4700 m and is not an easy one even if it’s only 2 km. You have the option to rent a horse or ride on the back of a local person motorcycle for 70 soles. One person in our group had to be put on oxygen and our guides were all prepared! The impressive part was that they went back and forth on the mountain as we were hiking at different paths, to ensure we are all okay. Pretty impressive effort!!

   At the top Rojelio took some awesome pics of me and my friend! He’s a very good photographer!

   The view is breathtaking no matter what direction you are looking! Be prepared for gusty winds on the top at over 5000m and snow on your way down, as it happened to us in August!

   Both guides were amazing the entire trip making sure we are having a great time and we make memorable memories! The entire experience was amazing and we recommend you both Arturo and Rojelio!!! A unique, beautiful experience!!!

   Overall I think Rainbow Mountain is overrated, but if you’re going to go, this is a fun way to do it.

    My husband and I were obsessed with our tour to Rainbow Mountain! The scenery on the way to the mountain from the area where we picked up our quad bikes was breathtaking. Our tour guide, Arturo, was extremely helpful and made sure we were safe throughout the entire experience. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone interested in visiting Rainbow Mountain using a more adventurous route.

    Very cool, once in a life time adventure. Would highly recommend to anyone considering. Arturo is a great guide and is knowledgeable about the culture and mountain. He was very patient with us low landers who were struggling with Altitude Sickness.

    I 100% recommend this tour! Our guide, Arturo, was very knowledgeable and professional. He picked us up at our hotel at 4am and then took us to go have breakfast (buffet style) about 2 hrs from Cusco. The food was delicious and the restrooms were clean. Before starting our tour he gave us a tutorial on how to use the ATVs and made sure he answered all our questions. The scenery was out of this world! Arturo made sure to stop at several spots to give us an opportunity to take our photos.

    There will be a point where you cannot continue with the ATV and so you will continue by walking. Altitude sickness hit me so hard but everybody else in our group did well. I had to stop every 10-20 steps to catch my breath because my heart was pounding so fast. If you believe you might go through this then there is an option to ride a horse all the way up after you park your ATV. I started to regret not getting the horse but Arturo was sooooo patient with me. He walked with me the whole way and constantly checked up on me. Thank you Arturo! When I finally made it up the mountain he congratulated me and tears rolled down my face. IT WAS WORTH IT!

    On our way back to Cusco we stopped for lunch at the same place we had breakfast. Again, food was delicious!

    Book the tour! You won’t regret it! 🙂

    This was the best thing I’ve done in cusco. The views from the ride are absolutely unbelievable and the quads are well taken care of. I will definitely come back and do this again, just for the ride up. If you’re doing rainbow mountain i
    definitely recommend this way. Please be aware there is still an hour of hiking uphill after the ride. You can pay an extra 50 soles for a ride on the back of a motorcycle

    This trip was really amazing. The views were just incredible. Arturo was awesome! The ATVs were awesome! After the ATV ride there is a hike to get to the Rainbow mountain. Supposedly it is 45-60 minutes. There was an option to take hop on the back of a locals motorbike for 60 sold one way. It was so worth it! If you get even a little altitude sick or just don’t like hiking you need to do this! I have to say this was an amazing trip, but honestly it was exhausting. It was totally worth it, but I was seriously altitude sick. We spend a day and a half in Cusco beforehand and it wasn’t enough. The rest of my group was ok though! I would really prepare for a trip like this.

    This was the highlight of my trip to Cusco. I highly recommend the quad ride up to the mountain. The scenery is magnificent. Our tour guide Arturo was the best and was very informative. Must see!

    We very highly recommend this trip. It is a combination of ATV riding and hiking with breath taking scenery. It is an early wake up but totally worth it. Arturo was amazing very attentive and knowledgeable. We were a group of six and felt safe at all times. They also carry oxygen if needed.. Noteworthy: Goggles and mask are recommended because ATVs can create dust. Also, bring your own gloves and A back pack to store the extra layers of clothes. The trail to the mountain is very stable and easy to walk. The distance was about 1.7 miles to the base of the mountain. You can opt to rent a horse for 60 soles one way to the base of the mountain 120 round trip.. The hiking to the summit is an additional 20 minutes of uphill mildy difficult climbing, windy and cold. We recommend gloves to the summit and head covering. The hike back to the ATV is enjoyable. There is an outhouse to use the bathroom where the ATVs are parked, bring your own toilet paper.. The route has high terrains with narrow switch back cliffs. There are options for double riders. Breakfast and Lunch was included. You will need to pay 20 soles to enter rainbow mountain and 2 soles per passport to get your passport stamped. Bring plenty to drink.

    This was an awesome excursion. Definitely the best way to explore rainbow mountain. Being on an ATV gives you a much more unique way to explore the area, and it seemed like it was much more scenic than the traditional route. The hiking portion is a little tough so I would recommend being somewhat in shape or at least wait a few days to acclimate. But, it’s definitely doable. If you get tired, they have horses available. Such an amazing experience and you feel so accomplished once you’ve made it to the top!

    This tour is definetly the best way to do rainbow mountain! Our guide Arturo was patient and fun, helped us in every possible way; and showed us some of the most beautiful views not just on the atv’s but on the drive up too. You get to completely see the natural beauty of Peru, (feels like a different universe) definitely the best tour I took while in the country! Would 100% do it again! The food provided was delicious and plentiful and the atv’s were in perfect condition, (everybody gets their own) easy to use, and an exhilarating adventure. If I could give it 10 stars, I would! BOOK NOW!

    This could not have been any better. Everything was perfect just as it was mentioned in the itinerary. I was unsure of hiking up the rainbow mountain due to high altitude and chose this Quad Bike trio. Totally worth the time and money spent.

    A very thoughtful trip. I have no words to express how content we are for such a remarkable and positive experience. Arturo is genuinely the best guide we ever came across. The Quad Bike ride up the hill was not difficult at all and we infact had the best time of our ur life.

    I was not keen on climbing up the rainbow Mountains and stumbled upong this tour company while sauntering in Calle Suecia. I found this to be an excellent alternative to the traiditional hiking tour. Arturo is a very experienced guide and was helpful at all the time.

    More than a Tour, a life experience. Upon arrival we have a nice breakfast in a house of an indigenous family of Cauca and then board the 4 Wheels engines and skirt the Andes along the eastern branch to the skirt of the 7 Colors mountain in the town of Qosqopata, the visual spectacle of The Andes is impressive and the climbing of the Mountain is a spectacle. 100% recommended

    I was not sure of hiking the Rainbow Mountains. I was introduced to this tour and it was very easy and just out of the world experience. Arturo did a great job of training the people in the group a bit before starting this tour. The Quads were in excellent condition too. If you aren`t keen on hiking but want to visit the Rainbow Mountain then do consider this.
